Bananas Foster Bourbon Bundt Cakes
Oooh, now that sounds like a showstopper. Here's a decadent, rich recipe for Bananas Foster Bourbon Bundt Cakes — warm banana flavor, buttery caramel sauce, a hit of bourbon, and that perfect golden crust you only get from a Bundt pan. Let’s do it!
🍌 Bananas Foster Bourbon Bundt Cakes
👩🍳 Makes: 1 large bundt cake or 12 mini bundt cakes
🍰 Cake Ingredients:

2 ripe bananas, mashed
-
2½ cups all-purpose flour
-
1½ tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp baking soda
-
½ tsp salt
-
1 tsp cinnamon
-
½ tsp nutmeg
-
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
-
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
3 large eggs
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
½ cup full-fat sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
-
¼ cup bourbon
-
½ cup whole milk
🍯 Bourbon Caramel Glaze:
-
½ cup unsalted butter
-
1 cup brown sugar
-
¼ cup heavy cream
-
2 tbsp bourbon
-
Pinch of salt
🔥 Optional Flambéed Bananas Topping:
-
2 tbsp butter
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
2 ripe bananas, sliced
-
2 tbsp bourbon (for flambéing)
🧁 Instructions:
1. Prep the Pan
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Grease and flour a large bundt pan or mini bundt pans generously.
2. Make the Cake Batter
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In a large bowl, cream butter with both sugars until fluffy.

Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla and mashed bananas.

Mix in sour cream and bourbon.
-
Add flour mixture in 3 parts, alternating with milk, starting and ending with flour. Don’t overmix.
3. Bake

Spoon batter evenly into pan(s).

Bake large cake for 50–60 minutes, mini cakes for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 15 mins, then turn out onto a wire rack.
🍮 Make the Bourbon Caramel Glaze:

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Stir in brown sugar and cream. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in bourbon and salt.

Let cool slightly until thickened but still pourable.
🍌 Optional Flambéed Bananas:

In a skillet, melt butter and sugar until bubbling.

Add sliced bananas and cook for 1–2 minutes.

Carefully pour in bourbon and flambé (ignite with a long lighter, away from your face) until flames subside.

Spoon over the cake just before serving.
✨ Assemble & Serve:

Drizzle warm bourbon caramel over the cooled cake(s).

Top with flambéed bananas for extra flair.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if you’re going all in.
