Shortcut Pasta Recipe

If you're looking for a quick and easy pasta dish, this "Shortcut Pasta" recipe is for you. It uses simple ingredients and minimal time, but still delivers great flavor.

Ingredients

(Serves 2-3)

  • 8 ounces of your favorite pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli work well)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes for al dente.
  • Once the pasta is done, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.

2. Prepare the Sauce

  • While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

3. Combine the Pasta and Sauce

  • Add the cooked pasta directly into the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to coat the pasta with the garlic oil.
  • If the pasta looks dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to help create a light sauce.

4. Finish the Dish

  • Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese, and toss again until everything is well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Serve

  • Transfer to plates and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

Tips

  • Add-ins: You can customize the pasta with vegetables (e.g., spinach or cherry tomatoes) or proteins (e.g., grilled chicken, shrimp, or bacon).
  • For Extra Flavor: Top with additional Parmesan or a squeeze of lemon juice for freshness.
  • Quick Sauce: You can also add a dollop of store-bought pesto or marinara sauce for a different flavor profile.

Enjoy your Shortcut Pasta, ready in under 20 minutes! 🍝✨
