Simple Scrambled Egg Recipe

Scrambled eggs are a quick, nutritious, and versatile dish. Here's how to make them perfectly fluffy and delicious.

Ingredients

(Serves 2)

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or olive oil)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Whisk the Eggs

  • Crack the eggs into a medium-sized bowl.
  • Add a pinch of salt and a splash of milk or cream if using. Whisk vigorously with a fork or whisk until the yolks and whites are fully combined and slightly frothy. This helps to incorporate air, making the eggs fluffy.

2. Heat the Pan

  • Place a non-stick skillet or frying pan over low to medium-low heat.
  • Add the butter or oil and allow it to melt and coat the bottom of the pan evenly. Avoid browning the butter.

3. Cook the Eggs

  • Pour the whisked eggs into the pan. Let them sit undisturbed for a few seconds to start setting.
  • Using a spatula, gently stir the eggs, pushing them from the edges toward the center. This creates soft, curd-like folds.
  • Continue to cook and stir until the eggs are almost set but still slightly runny. Remove from heat—they will continue to cook from residual heat.

4. Season and Serve

  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and freshly ground black pepper if needed.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley, chives, or dill for extra flavor.
  • Serve immediately, either on its own or with toast, avocado, or smoked salmon.

Tips

  • Low and Slow: Cooking on low heat ensures tender, creamy eggs without overcooking.
  • Don’t Overcook: Scrambled eggs can become dry and rubbery if left on the heat too long. Remove them slightly underdone.
  • Enhancements: Add shredded cheese, sautéed veggies, or cooked bacon for a heartier scramble.

Enjoy your soft, fluffy scrambled eggs! 🥚✨
