  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1-2 tablespoons ice water

For the Pistachio Filling:

  • 1 cup shelled pistachios (unsalted, toasted)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional, enhances nutty flavor)

For the Garnish:

  • Chopped pistachios
  • Powdered sugar
  • Edible gold leaf (optional, for elegance!)

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Tart Crust

  1. In a food processor, pulse flour, powdered sugar, and salt until combined.
  2. Add butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough just comes together.
  4. Form into a disc, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and press into a 9-inch tart pan.
  6. Poke the bottom with a fork and freeze for 15 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and blind bake the crust:
