Pan-Seared Shrimp with Garlic-Lemon Butter

This Pan-Seared Shrimp with Garlic-Lemon Butter is a quick and delicious dish bursting with flavor. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, and the garlic-lemon butter sauce adds a rich, tangy finish that will have you coming back for more.

Ingredients

(Serves 4)

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off as preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor and color)

For the Garlic-Lemon Butter:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Shrimp

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
  • Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using) on both sides.

2. Cook the Shrimp

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side, until golden and opaque.
  • Flip the shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side, until fully cooked and pink. Transfer the shrimp to a plate and set aside.

3. Make the Garlic-Lemon Butter Sauce

  • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the butter.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant and golden (be careful not to burn it).
  • Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Combine and Serve

  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the garlic-lemon butter sauce until well coated and heated through.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

5. Serve

  • Plate the shrimp and drizzle any remaining sauce over the top. Serve with a side of rice, pasta, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.

Tips

  • Shrimp Size: Use jumbo or large shrimp for this recipe for the best texture.
  • Make It Spicy: Add extra red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the butter for more heat.
  • Add Vegetables: Serve the shrimp over sautéed spinach or roasted asparagus for a well-rounded meal.

This Pan-Seared Shrimp with Garlic-Lemon Butter is a flavorful, easy-to-make dish that works for both casual weeknight dinners and elegant meals. Enjoy! 🍤🍋
