Lobster with Lemon Slices

 Lobster with Lemon Slices

Lobster with Lemon Slices

This Lobster with Lemon Slices recipe is simple yet sophisticated. The lobster is steamed to perfection and paired with fresh lemon slices, enhancing the natural sweetness of the lobster meat with a zesty citrus kick.

Ingredients

(Serves 2)

  • 2 lobster tails (6-8 ounces each) or 2 whole lobsters
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme or parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Lobster

  • If using lobster tails, use kitchen shears to cut down the top of the shell. Gently pull the shell apart and lift the meat out slightly, keeping it attached at the base.
  • For whole lobsters, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, carefully add the lobsters and cook for 8-10 minutes for a 1 1/4 lb lobster (adjust the time based on the size).

2. Prepare the Steamer or Pot

  • If steaming lobster tails or whole lobsters, bring about 2 inches of water to a boil in a large pot.
  • Add lemon slices to the water for extra citrus flavor while steaming.

3. Steam the Lobster

  • For lobster tails, place them in a steamer basket and steam for about 6-8 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and firm.
  • For whole lobsters, steam for 12-15 minutes (or until shells turn bright red and the meat is opaque).

4. Prepare the Lemon Butter Sauce

  • While the lobster is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the sea salt and black pepper.

5. Serve the Lobster

  • Once the lobster is done, remove it from the pot and transfer to a serving platter.
  • Arrange the lemon slices around the lobster for garnish and added flavor.
  • Pour the garlic lemon butter over the lobster and serve with extra lemon wedges on the side.

Tips

  • Don’t Overcook: Be careful not to overcook the lobster, as it can become tough. The meat should be opaque and firm when done.
  • Additional Flavor: Add fresh herbs like thyme, rosemary, or tarragon to the butter sauce for extra flavor.
  • Sides: Serve with a simple green salad, roasted vegetables, or crusty bread for a complete meal.

This Lobster with Lemon Slices recipe is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner. The bright lemon and buttery garlic sauce perfectly complement the tender, sweet lobster. 🦞🍋🧄
