Jalapeño Cilantro Sauce Recipe

 Jalapeño Cilantro Sauce

Jalapeño Cilantro Sauce

This Jalapeño Cilantro Sauce is a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce that's perfect for drizzling over tacos, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or even as a dip for chips. With fresh cilantro and zesty lime, it's a flavor-packed addition to any dish!

Ingredients

(Makes about 1 cup)

  • 2-3 jalapeños, seeded and roughly chopped (leave some seeds for extra spice, if desired)
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves and stems
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons honey (for a touch of sweetness)

Instructions

1. Blend the Ingredients

  • In a blender or food processor, combine the jalapeños, cilantro, garlic, sour cream (or yogurt), mayonnaise, lime juice, and olive oil.

2. Season

  • Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Season with salt to taste. Add honey if you want to balance the heat with a bit of sweetness.

3. Adjust Consistency

  • If the sauce is too thick, add a small splash of water or more olive oil until it reaches your desired consistency.

4. Chill and Serve

  • Transfer the sauce to a jar or bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Tips

  • Heat Level: Adjust the heat by including or removing the jalapeño seeds and ribs.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Variations: Add avocado for a creamier texture or a small handful of fresh parsley for a milder flavor.

This Jalapeño Cilantro Sauce is a versatile condiment that adds a bright, zesty kick to any meal! 🌿🌶️✨
