Homemade Pineapple Juice

 Homemade Pineapple Juice

Homemade Pineapple Juice

Fresh pineapple juice is a refreshing, tropical drink that's naturally sweet and packed with vitamins. This simple recipe requires just a few ingredients and can be customized to your taste.

Ingredients

(Makes 4 servings)

  • 1 medium-sized fresh pineapple
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional, depending on the sweetness of the pineapple)
  • 1 cup cold water or coconut water (optional, for a thinner consistency)
  • Ice cubes (for serving)
  • Fresh mint leaves or lime wedges (optional garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pineapple

  • Cut off the top (crown) and bottom of the pineapple.
  • Stand the pineapple upright and carefully slice off the skin, cutting deep enough to remove the "eyes."
  • Cut the pineapple into chunks, removing the tough core.

2. Blend the Pineapple

  • Place the pineapple chunks in a blender. Add 1 cup of cold water or coconut water if you prefer a thinner juice.
  • Blend on high speed until smooth.

3. Strain the Juice (Optional)

  • For a smoother juice, pour the blended pineapple through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl, pressing with a spoon to extract the juice. Skip this step if you prefer a thicker, pulpier juice.

4. Sweeten to Taste

  • Taste the juice and add sugar or honey if needed, blending or stirring until dissolved.

5. Chill and Serve

  • Pour the pineapple juice over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or a wedge of lime, if desired.

Tips

  • Use Ripe Pineapple: A ripe pineapple ensures maximum sweetness and flavor. Look for one that’s golden in color and slightly soft to the touch with a sweet aroma.
  • No Blender? Grate the pineapple using a box grater and then strain the pulp to extract the juice.
  • Enhance Flavor: Add a splash of lime juice, a pinch of ginger, or a few fresh mint leaves during blending for a unique twist.
  • Storage: Store leftover juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Fresh, homemade pineapple juice is the perfect way to enjoy the tropical goodness of pineapple in every sip. 🍍🥤
