Grilled Lobster Tails
Grilled Lobster Tails
Grilled lobster tails are a luxurious and simple dish that lets the natural sweetness of the lobster shine. A rich garlic butter glaze adds bold flavor, making this recipe perfect for special occasions or summer barbecues.
Ingredients
(Serves 4)
- 4 lobster tails
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Lobster Tails
- Using kitchen shears, cut down the center of the top shell of each lobster tail, stopping at the base.
- Gently pry the shell apart and lift the meat slightly, resting it on top of the shell while keeping it attached at the base.
- Rinse and pat the lobster tails dry with paper towels.
2. Make the Garlic Butter
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Preheat the Grill
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F-400°F). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
4. Butter and Grill
- Brush the lobster meat generously with the garlic butter mixture.
- Place the lobster tails shell side down on the grill. Close the lid and cook for 6-8 minutes, depending on the size of the tails.
- Baste the lobster meat with more garlic butter halfway through grilling.
- The lobster is done when the meat is opaque and firm to the touch, with an internal temperature of 135°F-140°F.
5. Garnish and Serve
- Remove the lobster tails from the grill and drizzle with any remaining garlic butter.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Tips
- Butterflied Presentation: Butterflying the tails allows even cooking and makes the dish visually stunning.
- Avoid Overcooking: Lobster meat can become rubbery if overcooked, so keep a close eye on it.
- Charcoal vs. Gas Grill: Both work well, but a charcoal grill adds a smoky flavor that pairs beautifully with lobster.
- Pairings: Serve with grilled vegetables, rice pilaf, or a light salad for a complete meal.
These Grilled Lobster Tails are an indulgent treat that’s easier to prepare than they look, making any meal feel like a special occasion. 🦞🔥🍋
