Easy Maltesers Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients:

  • 300g milk chocolate (about 10.5 oz)
  • 200g white chocolate (about 7 oz)
  • 1 can (397g/14oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 100g Maltesers (about 3.5 oz), roughly chopped (reserve some whole for garnish)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of sea salt (optional, for contrast)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan:

    • Line a square 8-inch (20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a bit of an overhang to easily lift out the fudge later.
  2. Melt the Milk Chocolate:

    • In a heatproof bowl, break the milk chocolate into pieces. Add the sweetened condensed milk to the bowl and place over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method), stirring constantly until smooth and melted.
  3. Melt the White Chocolate:

    • In another bowl, break the white chocolate into pieces. Similarly, place over simmering water and stir until fully melted.
  4. Combine the Chocolate Mixtures:

    • Once the milk chocolate mixture is melted, pour it into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly to form the bottom layer. Then, pour the melted white chocolate over the milk chocolate layer. Use a spoon or a skewer to swirl the two layers together lightly, creating a marbled effect.
  5. Add the Maltesers:

    • Gently fold the chopped Maltesers into the fudge mixture. Press some whole Maltesers on top for decoration. You can also sprinkle a little sea salt over the top if you like a sweet and salty contrast.
  6. Chill the Fudge:

    • Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until it’s set and firm to the touch. For quicker setting, place it in the freezer for about 1 hour.
  7. Cut into Pieces:

    • Once the fudge has fully set, lift it out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut it into small squares or pieces.

Tips:

  • For a Richer Fudge: You can use dark chocolate or a combination of milk and dark chocolate for a deeper flavor.
  • Storage: Store the fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Add-ins: For added texture, try mixing in a handful of crushed biscuits or nuts like hazelnuts.

Enjoy your deliciously creamy, crunchy Maltesers chocolate fudge! 🍫🍯
