Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Brownies 🍫🥜
These decadent Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Brownies are a dream come true for chocolate and peanut butter lovers! They feature a rich, fudgy brownie base topped with a creamy peanut butter truffle filling and a final layer of velvety dark chocolate ganache. This dessert is the ultimate indulgence!
Ingredients (Makes about 12-16 brownies)
For the Brownie Base:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or semi-sweet, for a less intense flavor)
For the Peanut Butter Truffle Filling:
- ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream (as needed, for smooth consistency)
- Pinch of salt
For the Dark Chocolate Ganache:
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Brownie Base:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease with butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (don’t overbake for fudgy brownies!). Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
2️⃣ Make the Peanut Butter Truffle Filling:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add heavy cream, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the filling is soft but firm enough to hold its shape (it should not be runny).
- Add a pinch of salt for balance.
- Once the brownies have cooled, spread the peanut butter filling evenly over the brownie base.
3️⃣ Make the Dark Chocolate Ganache:
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer (don’t bring it to a boil).
- Remove the pan from heat and pour the hot cream over the dark chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes, then stir until smooth and fully melted.
- Stir in the unsalted butter for extra shine and smoothness.
- Pour the ganache over the peanut butter truffle layer and spread it evenly.
4️⃣ Let it Set:
- Refrigerate the brownies for about 1-2 hours to allow the ganache to firm up completely.
- Once set, cut into squares or rectangles.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:
- Serve these brownies chilled or at room temperature for the ultimate peanut butter and chocolate experience. They’re perfect for dessert parties or whenever you need a seriously indulgent treat!
Tips for Success:
🥜 Peanut Butter: Use creamy peanut butter for a smoother texture, but you can substitute crunchy peanut butter if you prefer a bit more texture in your truffle filling.
🍫 Chocolate: The dark chocolate ganache gives the brownies a rich and intense flavor, but if you prefer a sweeter taste, you can use semi-sweet chocolate chips.
🌰 Truffle Layer: Be sure to let the peanut butter truffle filling set on the brownies before adding the ganache to avoid mixing the two layers together.
These Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Brownies are rich, creamy, and completely irresistible, making them a must-try for anyone who loves the combination of chocolate and peanut butter! 😋🍫🥜
