Crusty Italian Garlic Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large Italian or French baguette
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. -
Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and optional Parmesan or Italian seasoning until well combined. -
Slice the Bread:
Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick pieces, but do not cut all the way through. The slices should still be connected at the base. -
Spread the Garlic Butter:
Generously spread the garlic butter mixture between each slice and over the top of the bread. -
Wrap and Bake:
Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, leaving the top slightly open to allow for crisping. Place it on the prepared baking sheet. -
Bake the Bread:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the butter is melted and the bread is golden and crispy. -
Optional Broil for Crispiness:
For an extra crispy texture, unwrap the foil and broil the bread for 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning. -
Serve:
Serve warm as a side dish or appetizer. Enjoy your crusty Italian garlic bread with soups, pasta, or salads!
Tips:
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
- Store leftovers wrapped in foil and reheat in the oven.
