Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
- 3/4 cup milk (whole, almond, or oat)
- 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips (or 1 tablespoon cocoa powder + 1 teaspoon sugar)
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup (optional, for drizzling)
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Heat the Milk & Melt Chocolate:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until hot but not boiling. Add the dark chocolate chips and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
2. Brew Coffee & Combine:
Brew a strong shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup of strong coffee). Pour it into a mug.
3. Add Flavor & Mix:
Stir in the peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and chocolate syrup (if using) into the hot chocolate mixture.
4. Froth the Milk (Optional):
For a café-style finish, froth the milk using a milk frother or whisk until slightly foamy.
