Buttery Sautéed Lobster Tail Recipe

 Buttery Sautéed Lobster Tail

Buttery Sautéed Lobster Tail

This buttery sautéed lobster tail recipe is a simple yet luxurious dish that highlights the lobster's natural sweetness. Cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, it’s perfect for special occasions or an indulgent dinner.

Ingredients

(Serves 2)

  • 2 lobster tails (about 6-8 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Lobster Tails

  • Using kitchen shears, cut down the center of the top shell lengthwise, stopping at the tail fin.
  • Gently spread the shell apart and lift the meat, resting it on top of the shell while keeping it attached at the base.
  • Rinse the lobster meat and pat it dry with paper towels.

2. Season the Lobster

  • Sprinkle the lobster meat with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).

3. Heat the Pan

  • Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Cook the Lobster Tails

  • Place the lobster tails meat side down in the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the meat begins to brown slightly.
  • Flip the lobster tails shell side down and baste with the butter mixture in the pan. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, occasionally spooning the butter over the meat.
  • The lobster is done when the meat is opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 135°F.

5. Add Lemon Juice

  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the lobster tails in the skillet. Toss gently to coat in the sauce.

6. Garnish and Serve

  • Transfer the lobster tails to a serving plate. Drizzle with the remaining butter sauce from the pan. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Tips

  • Fresh Lobster: Use fresh, high-quality lobster tails for the best flavor.
  • Butter Basting: Continuously spooning the butter mixture over the meat enhances flavor and keeps it moist.
  • Avoid Overcooking: Lobster can become tough if overcooked, so keep an eye on the internal temperature.
  • Pairings: Serve with mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus, or a crisp salad for a complete meal.

This Buttery Sautéed Lobster Tail recipe delivers a rich, decadent dish that’s surprisingly easy to prepare. 🦞✨🍋
