Banana Ice Cream

 Banana Ice Cream

Banana Ice Cream

This creamy, naturally sweet banana ice cream is made with just a few ingredients and no added sugar. It’s a healthy, dairy-free dessert option that’s easy to customize.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • Optional mix-ins:
    • 1-2 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tbsp cocoa powder or chocolate chips
    • A splash of milk (dairy or plant-based) for smoother blending

Instructions

  1. Freeze the Bananas:

    • Slice the bananas into coins and place them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    • Freeze for at least 2-3 hours, or until completely solid.
  2. Blend the Bananas:

    • Transfer the frozen banana slices to a high-speed blender or food processor.
    • Blend on high, pausing to scrape down the sides as needed. The bananas will first look crumbly but will eventually become smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Flavor:

    • Once the bananas are smooth, add any mix-ins like peanut butter, vanilla extract, or cocoa powder, and blend until fully incorporated.
  4. Serve or Freeze:

    • You can serve the ice cream immediately as soft-serve, or transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for 1-2 hours for a firmer texture.
  5. Garnish and Enjoy:

    • Scoop into bowls and garnish with your favorite toppings: chopped nuts, fresh fruit, chocolate syrup, or shredded coconut.

Variations:

  • Berry Banana Ice Cream: Add 1/2 cup frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries).
  • Choco-Banana Ice Cream: Blend with 1-2 tbsp cocoa powder and top with chocolate chips.
  • Tropical Banana Ice Cream: Blend in a few chunks of frozen pineapple or mango.
